We stayed with Next Move for two years after receiving their property booklet through our student accommodation door. They have a range of properties to suit any budget along with low admin fees compared to other estate agents in the area. Any problem we had at any time we could text them and it’ll be sorted.
They sorted out the council tax exemption for students for us which not many estate agents do, and after two years of five lads staying in the property we received our full deposit back!

Brilliant agency. Nathan couldn’t do enough for us – any issues were sorted promptly, and he was always straight to the rescue when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the flat (which was shamefully often). The flat itself was great – all of Next Move’s properties seem to be of a really high standard. They are an agency who really care about their tenants – Nathan even compiled a to-do list for us which ensured that we would get our full deposit back when we moved out (which we did)! Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Excellent service from Next Move Properties, who take pride in the service they offer. You feel like a valued customer, unlike the experiences I have had with larger letting agents in the city centre (****** ******** – AVOID!).

Any maintenance was carried out rapidly and we were always kept informed of what was happening when. All our queries were answered quickly and any house problems sorted within the day (often within the hour).

The checkout process was very smooth. Nathan & Lorraine provided clear guidance on the cleaning standard they expected and even did a pre-checkout assessment of the property to let us know which areas required further attention. This resulted in us receiving our full deposit back on our leaving date.

Would highly recommend Next Move Properties for anyone who wants an honest, fair and friendly letting agent!

Literally CANNOT fault these guys one bit. Rented through Next Move in second year at university and subsequently used them again for the following three years. Nathan and Lorraine have a great system in place and the proof in the pudding is by how many properties they manage. Every issue we ever had was resolved in no time, and they would always get a proper job done; we were treated like professionals and it’s also fair to say that they would go above and beyond what they had to do. (Late night visit to the property when I’d locked my keys in my car and they also put me in touch with someone who sorted me a job instantly). Most importantly though, they were fair. If things weren’t right, they’d be sorted, but if we did something wrong, they’d have the landlords interest at heart. In addition, the deposits are always held by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme these days so Next Move have no way of profiting from this. Needless to say, I’d highly recommend renting through these guys, if I didn’t now own my own house, then I probably still would be too! 🙂

Tried a few landlords in newcastle but next move properties are the best by miles!!! Unlike the large commercially driven companies like *** ******(who are terrible and just don’t use them) and ***** ********, Nathan and Lorraine know all of there clients by name and are always more than happy to help!

Any problems we had were fixed the same day or the next day, even my friends bed which ‘broke’ was replaced within a few hours, which I don’t know how is possible!

Also tend to your needs like they installed bike locks in our backyard as I wanted somewhere to keep my bike! They’ve even very fair when you create an absolute mess!

I’m sure that if our house had been with a different landlord as well, it would have cost us a lot more! Next move are very fair on pricing!

Hopefully will find another house with them in the future!

Definitely deserve 5/5 for customers services!!!

Next move were not the first estate agents I used in Newcastle but they are the ones I have stayed with for the past 3 years. I was with ***** ******** in second year and they were beyond terrible – DO NOT USE THEM!

In comparison I haven’t had a single issue with Next Move. Nathan and Lorraine are really nice people, they’re happy to help you in any way they can, and not just milk money out of you like many big name estate agents do. For example, after losing my bag, keys and memory on a night out, Nathan came to meet me outside my house to let me in – on his day off! – so I wouldn’t be charged for the changing of the locks.

I would highly recommend them for their service, prices and the quality of their properties, and would urge any second year students new to the area to trust these many glowing reviews and go with Next Move, not the big name companies like ***** ******** and *** ****** (who I’ve heard are equally awful) – who will completely rip you off.

Nathan and Lorraine at Next Move have looked after our 3 bedroom property for almost 3 years now and can not fault them at all. I have spent a lot of time overseas over the passed few years and have left the property in their capable hands. The letting process seems to be straightforward, with no undue demands of us parents, He says that throughout the year you’ve been prompt and helpful in responding to their various requests. I’m particularly impressed with the “pre-inspection inspection”, giving them every chance to clean the property properly before leaving. Also much appreciated were the detailed suggestions about what products/services to use to achieve the right result – we all know that some students need rather more guidance than others, and I think you were extremely fair with them (in fact, positively generous!)

I wish I had found Next Move earlier! Nathan and Lorraine are so lovely and the house was great. There was no messing about when something went wrong.. Nathan would be on it straight away! Me and my flatmate were well looked after. And when it came to moving out, it didn’t take long at all to get back our full deposit.

Lived in a Next Move property in West Jesmond in my final year of university with four friends, and I couldn’t fault my experience throughout the year.

The property was well maintained and in great condition. I can’t think of one problem that we had with the property, but if we did then Nathan & Lorraine were always only a phone call away and would come over and resolve any issue very quickly.

When it came to the end of the tenancy we got our full deposit back the day our tenancy was due to end, which was amazing! Especially compared to a previous experience in second year with a larger big-name agency in the Jesmond area who took ages to finalise the end of the tenancy, and then withheld some of the deposit.

Overall, I’d highly recommend Next Move to any Newcastle or Northumbria student who is looking for a good value for money property, and impeccable service.

Excellent service from this company. All jobs reported were dealt with promptly and the information supplied at the end of the tenancy was excellent. Nathan even provided a suggestion of the type of products to use to get the flat to a standard expected, which resulted in the return of the full deposit. Only wish we had known about this company for the previous year instead of using ***, who were an absolute nightmare to deal with. Will recommend this company to any students looking for accommodation.

Having had numerous problems in my second year of study with housing and having to go to the DPS over dispute of a number of charges unfairly thrown at myself and my 2nd year housemates with another company I went into my third year of study with a determination not to be unfairly accused and made sure to put my new rented accommodation under large amounts of scrutiny in order to prevent the same problems happening again. Assuming Next move would be exactly the same as the previous letting agency I had been with I found them to be extremely different to the larger agencies and far more suitable for students to let with. Consistently Next move proved me wrong and helped us in a number of ways throughout the year including a final inspection done by Nathan in which he notified us of problems we may be charged for and so need to focus on before we moved out. This is something not done by many other agencies and appears to be a way they can charge unfairly students for the smallest details that if like Nathan simply pointed out would take a small amount of time to clean and sort out.

Next Move returned our full deposit despite there being small amounts of damage to the property that had occurred throughout the year spent with them and consistently were communicating with us and friendly to us and I would recommend to any students looking at housing in Newcastle to consider Next Move as they appear to truly look after students rather than see them as an ability to make quick and easy money off.

We’ve had bad experiences with letting agents in Newcastle in the past, so couldn’t have been happier to find an agent that was responsive, friendly and professional the whole way through. It always felt like our experience as tenants was their priority, which can’t be said for some agencies!

Any problems with the property, electric, heating etc and Nathan was on hand straight away to help, and if he couldn’t help it was always a quick and easy process getting someone out.

There was never any issues getting hold of either Nathan or Lorraine at the office and they were always on hand to offer advice if needed.

I lived in a Next Move property last year for my final year of uni and it was perfect. The property was incredibly reasonably priced considering the space and location, and Nathan our agent immediately organised a new oven to be put in place when we moved in after our request. Throughout our tenancy, Nathan was incredibly helpful and prompt at dealing with any issues regarding the property, of which there were few. Replying within hours, things would be sorted either by him or by equally friendly and helpful workers that he would bring in to solve the problem. I fear that after having Next Move Properties as an estate agent my standards will be too high for the future! Definitely would recommend going for these instead of any other estate agent in Newcastle since I have heard nightmare stories about them and Next Move have been a dream.

I fully recommend Next Move Properties as a letting agent to anyone. I was a student and rented a flat through next move during the final year of my degree. The staff you’ll encounter, Nathan and Lorraine, are so kind and helpful and most importantly were very responsive and always got back to us really quickly when we raised an issue. They did not hesitate to get contractors out on the couple of occasions they were required. We were visited a month before the end of our tenancy to advise us on what we’d need to do (i.e. areas to clean) to make sure we got as much of our deposit back as possible. It worked too because we all got our full deposit back. They also gave us a bottle of wine for keeping the flat so clean!
